Good day everyone!!
I hope you have had a wonderful week and are up for another layout that I recently did.
For this layout I chose a background paper that has a lot of texture to it. I chose to keep this layout simple. I normally choose very colourful papers for my granchildren's layouts which also depends on their age in the photo. But this one I chose a paper that I have had for a very long time and decided to try it with this picture of my granddaughter.
I chose a stencil that I have that has stitched lines on it that will create a frame around the picture as you see above. I used black gesso to create the frame. I did find that I had to go very gently with the gesso so that it would not seep under the stencil. Black gesso is very dense in colour and is very difficut to correct mistakes with. I always make sure that I put a coat of matte medium onto the paper first which helps a lot to protect the paper. A lot of mistakes can wipe off easily when you use the medium on your paper.
I added a piece of patterned paper that had a flower design on it and a second paper to make a collage
behind the picture. It is hard to see but you can see the flower at the left side of the picture. I added my picture next as shown, just off to the right, inked a circle chipboard accent piece and placed this around the face of the charming little one in the picture. The rest is easy. Added my flowers, white metal decorative pieces and some chipboard branches which I painted in green. I added some raw chipboard at the top right corner with a flower and a white metal accent piece. It is hard to see but at the right side edge and upper left corner I added some strips of washi tape for more accent. I was pleased with the way it turned out and this layout could be used for any age. By keeping the flowers in a neutral soft tone, everything blended nicely with the background paper.
I hope you have a safe and happy week and keep on smiling,.
